ANTaR is an independent, national, pre-dominantly non-Indigenous organisation set up to help protect the human rights of Indigenous Australians and advance the reconciliation process in Australia. Members include Indigenous leaders, prominent individuals and over 200 local ANTaR groups.
ANTaR assists Indigenous leaders and communities to communicate their aspirations and concerns to a wider community, conducting national education and awareness campaigns on Indigenous affairs and various fundraising activities.
The Sea of Hands project is one of ANTaR’s major campaigns. The Sea of Hands represents support for Reconciliation — over 300,000 people have placed their signatures on a hand and assisted with Sea of Hands installations around Australia.
ANTaR has established a section on it’s website which allows individuals to sign a Sea of Hands statement showing their support for Reconciliation .
