Dear [firstname,fallback=friend],
Have you ever met with a politician?
A month after the parliamentary apology to the Stolen Generations, Prime Minister Kevin Rudd and then-Opposition Leader Dr Brendan Nelson signed a statement of intent with Indigenous health leaders committing to closing the 17-year life expectancy gap between Indigenous and non-Indigenous Australians within a generation.
Now these good intentions need to be followed by action. ANTaR is about to launch a major new campaign to make sure this happens.
This next step of the campaign involves YOU. We're looking for volunteers based in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne who feel confident about visiting a politician face to face. We'll buddy you up with a like-minded activist, so you don't need to be an expert in Indigenous issues.

Visit ANTaR's new website!
We have recently redesigned our website, so now its easier for people to find information and take action.
We've also rearranged our issues pages so you can get reports, recent news and opinions on a given topic in one place. We've become a bit provocative on these pages by asking questions we'd like you — and the wider community — to consider and comment on. Generally, we're encouraging people to think deeper about Indigenous issues.
On an topical issue — the NT Intervention — we ask: "Should the NT intervention be changed, maintained or scrapped ... and why?".
