ANTaR recognises that successful administration plays a critical role in assisting with the smooth running of the organisation. The administration assistant will provide clerical and administrative support to the ANTaR staff.
This position will provide job hunters with good administration and office assistance experience.
The volunteer will have the choice to determine his or her own working hours, although we would like the volunteer to be available for at least one full day each week.
Aims and responsibilities
The responsibilities of the volunteer are:
- answering ANTaR telephone and transferring calls to respective staff members or taking messages as required
- ensuring the maintenance of office supplies and ordering office supplies as necessary
- collecting and sorting mail
- managing correspondence
- carrying out one-off tasks as required by ANTaR staff
Selection criteria
ANTaR will select a volunteer based on the following selection criteria:
- A commitment to Indigenous rights issues
- Advanced verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently
- Experience in office administration and secretarial work
Other information
- This role is ongoing, and as such we request that the volunteer commits to this role for a minimum of six months.
- The volunteer will need to work from ANTaR's offices in Dulwich Hill.
- ANTaR does not have the capacity to give remuneration to volunteers, including travel or meal allowances.
