Administrative Officer
The volunteer Administrative Officer will be engaged to answer the phones at ANTaR's national office in Sydney, maintain the appointments diary and respond to correspondence.
The volunteer will have the choice to determine his or her own working hours, although we would like the volunteer to be available for at least four consecutive hours each week.
Aims and responsibilities
The responsibilities of the volunteer are:
- to answer ANTaR's phones
- to take merchandise orders and donations over the phone, and pass on other calls for staff members
- to maintain ANTaR's diary so all staff and volunteers are aware of the whereabouts of others
- to respond to ANTaR emails or forward them on to other staff members if necessary
- to help with other office tasks as necessary
Selection criteria
ANTaR will select a volunteer based on the following selection criteria:
- ability to work well in a team
- excellent attention to detail
- excellent verbal and written communication skills
- excellent phone manner
- confidence and experience in responding to email queries
- a strong commitment to Indigenous peoples' rights
Other information
- This role is ongoing, and as such we request that the volunteer commits to this role for a minimum of six months.
- The volunteer will need to work from ANTaR's offices in Rozelle.
- ANTaR does not have the capacity to give remuneration to volunteers, including travel or meal allowances.
