ANTaR today calls on the Federal Government to act on the findings and recommendations of the United Nations Committee on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination (CERD).

ANTaR's election analysis, released today, concludes that the cross-party commitment to constitutional reform to recognise Indigenous peoples was the highlight of a campaign which otherwise largely overlooked Indigenous Australians.

ANTaR welcomes the Coalition's commitment to recognise Indigenous people in the preamble of the Australian Constitution.

"The Constitution is Australia's founding governance document. It is of vital importance that it acknowledges the unique place, history and rights of Indigenous peoples in our nation," said Dr Janet Hunt, ANTaR President.
